Weston nestled in the mangrove riverine & gymnostoma swamp
forest where the rhizophoraceae are dominant. Just south west of Beaufort town, holds memories of the beginning of the north
Borneo railway
& could have been a bustling port of the fifties & major town today.
Sadly it remained just a riverine village but with a present
attractions from authentic living fisherman village in the midst of the mangrove forest to the infamous proboscis monkey and
glimpses of the hyperactive, elusive silver langgur.
Water creatures
from mudskipper to crocodiles and otters not to be missed out are the river shrimp which is delicacy by itself. A breeding
ground haven for the fishes, shrimps, clams, crabs ect…..
